Everything in politics starts with an idea.

Sometimes it’s a burning injustice that’s got to be fixed. Sometimes it's an inspirational vision of how to make the world a better place.

The Conservative Policy Forum is contributing to the Party's Policy renewal programme to re-define our Party policies for the future. Policies which are based on sound research and wide consultation.

Early in September a local conference brought together members, experts and shadow ministers to discuss and hear about progress with Policy development. Our Policy Prospectus

In the first session, John Glen and Danielle Dunfield-Prayero talked about the Employment rights Act, SME's and Corporation tax and VAT. They spoke of the SME's needs in term of customers, lower costs, access to markets and a reliable work force. The overall need to empower businesses.

In the second sessions James Cartlidge and Roger Metcalfe Touched on claims against veterans, training the Ukrainians, the Cadets/reserves Policy position, jobs and Industry and The Armed Forces Housing Association.

CPF Ambassador Russell Holland delivered a short piece on ECHR and Immigration, beginning by exploring the origins of the ECHR. He distinguished between legal and illegal immigration and how important it is to approach this debate carefully and sensitively because of the impact that it can have on community cohesion. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RkTjQSWQ6yY

The day ended with a Q and A session hosted by Robert Jenrick.

Members can contribute to Policy development. Please see Home | Conservative Policy Forum for more information.
